What is this site?

Tablet, desktop, laptop and mobile phoneThis site has the "how-to" about everything from running cables, cutting-the-cord, set-up your router, and all the parts and pieces that make up your HomeMedia.

Beginner?

Man looking at mobile phoneThis website is all about beginners. It is built for regular folks who just want to enjoy all their photos, home videos, music, and so on. It is a non-technical "How-To" website with step-by-step instructions to guide you through your entire media world. Sources, hardware, software, tools, and techniques. Everything you need to organize your own personal media collections.

Where do I start?

The first step is to go to the "Home Media BASICS" page. It will explain all the sixteen steps and how to navigate around the site.

But there are no rules. You can just bounce around wherever you want to go and check it out. You are in the driver's seat. (There's even some motorcycle stuff in here.)

My credentials?

Hi, I'm Frank Gates. I spent 35 years in cable TV, (CableClips) and I am going to share that experience with you by showing you how I put together my own home media system and how I enjoy it every day.

I have made all the mistakes and have figured out what works, and what doesn't work. My technical credo is:

“I do not work for technology; I make technology work for me.”

Cigarette Pack Surprise
